ENERGY CERTIFICATES & EUROPEAN ENERGY PERFORMANCE OF BUILDINGS DIRECTIVE (EPBD)

Legislation enacted in April 2008 requires that all commercial and public buildings in England and Wales be rated by a qualified energy assessor. Results of inspections by an energy assessor of commercial properties must be posted in the form of an energy performance certificate ( EPC ). For public buildings, the rating by an energy assessor must be posted as a display energy certificate ( DEC ). As fully accredited Low Carbon Energy Assessors ( LCEA ), we provide energy certificates throughout the UK.

Energy Certificates must by law be produced by an accredited energy assessor. We can provide these for you as certified Low Carbon Energy Assessors. The details of our credentials as energy assessors can be reviewed at Landmark Information Group.

ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDING DESIGNS

As Low Carbon Energy Assessors, we provide energy solutions to meet < href="http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/england/government/buildingregs/technicalguidance/bcapproveddocumentslist/" >Part L. Energy performance must be at the top of the agenda for any new project brief. A qualified energy assessor from A & P can design the fullest integration of renewables and minimization of energy consumption into your plans. Energy concerns require constant review by an energy assessor during all stages of the design and construction.

SIMPLIFIED BUILDING ENERGY MODEL (SBEM) ASSESSMENTS

Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) is provided by the Government to define requirements of the Building Regulation Part L2A & L2B. Our energy assessors carry out SBEM assessments for existing commercial buildings. New designs can be reviewed by our energy assessor using the SBEM to establish whether the plans comply with the building regulations. An energy assessor can develop a provisional guide to the building's energy performance rating based on the SBEM.

BUILDING ENERGY AUDITS

An energy assessor from A & P can provide SBEM energy audits of existing buildings. From the SBEM, an energy assessor evaluates the current energy performance of your building and compares with expected SBEM based benchmarks in your industry. From this report, our energy assessor will diagnose problem areas and prescribe remedies according to the SBEM. Our energy assessor applies the SBEM to address your legal compliance concerns. Further, the SBEM audit by our energy assessor identifies sources of cost reductions for you.

AIR CONDITIONING INSPECTIONS

New regulations require that an energy assessor inspect all air conditioning systems above 250 kW. Those over 12kW must be inspected by an energy assessor no later than 4 January 2011. This work must be carried out by an accredited inspector. Our energy assessor can accomplish these air conditioning inspections for you.

DESIGN STAGE ENERGY AUDITS

Our energy assessors own wide experience in applying the SBEM to the building design process. An energy assessor from A & P can apply the SBEM to perform a design energy audit at any stage of the design process. An SBEM audit by our energy assessor ensures the most energy efficient solution has been provided. An SBEM audit by our energy assessor during the design stage considers the life cycle costs of the building services. The SBEM audit by our energy assessor promotes optimal energy performance and minimizes your expenses. Retaining our energy assessor to perfrom an SBEM audit on you plans is the most cost-efficient step you can take.
